Empowering Learning through Innovative Design
My journey as an instructional designer has been driven by a passion for crafting educational experiences that cater to the diverse needs of adult learners. With a foundation in the ADDIE model and a deep understanding of andragogy, I design engaging, learner-centric courses that effectively meet educational objectives.
Presentations and Speaking
I have designed and delivered countless presentations as a highly sought-after keynote speaker for local, state, national and international events. My approach centers on creating engaging, learner-focused experiences that resonate with diverse audiences. I have been invited to speak in person and virtually, where I craft presentations tailored to the needs of attendees, incorporating interactive elements, data-driven insights, and real-world applications. I ensure each presentation offers both practical value and inspiring content, enhancing the learning experience for participants.
Commitment to Continuous Improvement
My instructional design work is guided by a philosophy of continuous improvement, leveraging feedback and data to refine course offerings. This iterative process ensures that all learning experiences are dynamic, impactful, and aligned with current educational standards and learner expectations.
Course Development: I’ve designed numerous courses, including the notable “Wellness in the Library Workplace,” an asynchronous two-week class for librarians that has educated nearly 2,000 professionals since its inception in 2018. Other courses I’ve developed include:
- Stand Up for Health: Health and Wellness for your Community
- Exploring Complementary and Integrative Health
- Beyond an Apple a Day: Providing Consumer Health Information at Your Library
- Bridging The Digital Health Divide: Empowering Library Users
- Mental Health in the Workplace
Highlighted Projects:
Stand Up for Health: Health and Wellness for your Community
A twelve CE class offered as an hybrid course with virtual and in-person aspects or an asynchronous four-week class. Reached over 600 public librarians in 3 years.

Wellness in the Library Workplace
A four CE course offered as four hour in-person or as an asynchronous two-week class for librarians that has educated nearly 2,000 professionals since its inception in 2018

Exploring Complementary and Integrative Health: Information, Resources, and Evaluation
A six CE asynchronous online course offered over three weeks with instructor graded assignments. Launched in 2024

- NNLM Health Misinformation Symposium in 2023, I focused on the instructional design of a comprehensive learning experience for over 1,750 registrations and over 750 live attendees. The event emphasized amplifying voices from underrepresented populations, creating a platform that shared information and fostered learning. I led the team that designed the event structure, ensuring each session aligned with the educational goals of addressing misinformation. Working with the National Evaluation Center (NEC), I helped assess learning outcomes and compiled a detailed final report. This process ensured that the symposium was both informative and impactful for attendees.
- Virtual Symposium for Library Staff Well-being in March 2021, I led the instructional design of a comprehensive learning experience for over 3,000 live participants from a pool of 6,000 registrants. I focused on creating an engaging and enriching environment by curating and managing a diverse panel of speakers. I developed an evaluation tool to assess learning outcomes, contributing to the symposium’s success and earning me a performance award.
Collaborative Initiatives
I have fostered ongoing partnerships, such as with the ALA-Allied Professional Association, to launch and sustain educational offerings that continuously adapt to the evolving needs of learners. My work is characterized by a commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and the effective use of technology to enhance educational outcomes.
